Who am I ?

I am 54 years old and based at Lawling Creek on the River Blackwater, Essex, but working Europe wide.

A qualified full member of the YDSA (Yacht Designers and Surveyors Association), and registered with FEMAS (Federation of European Maritime Associations of Surveyors and Consultants).

Visiting Lecturer to the International Boatbuilding Training College in Lowestoft, Suffolk.

I have many years practical experience in yacht construction, repair and restoration.

An active sailor all my life, believing the understanding of the way of a yacht at sea to be an essential element of surveying.

Have owned twenty-two cruising boats, wood and GRP, mono and multihull, sail and power, in 33 years. Current boat is a 1979 Westerly Pentland Ketch recently purchased in Holland. My boats are used for long term evaluation of various equipment and trials of new repair methods etc.

You will find me approachable, practical and down to earth.
